  1. Gordon,
I just wanted to say “Good for you” I don’t know if you remember us our not, about two years ago you did a story on my family. In December of 2006 my husband, James Livingston returned from a 7 month deployment in Iraq. He surprised our son Jay Livingston by picking him up from Clinton Elementary school. You guys made it such a special memory for us, and all our family and friends. James is currently serving his second tour of duty in Iraq. I too have gained alot of weight after having to kids. I started weight watchers on October 6th and have lost 12 lbs already. My plan is to lose 40 more before James returns in the spring. Just wanted to share my success with Weight Watchers so far. Good Luck! It is an amazing program!

  2. Hi Gordon, I think this is great that you are getting healthy. I would like to join you with this. I am having a problem finding the right link to follow your progress. I lost 25 pounds a little over two years ago and was almost a my goal and then I hurt my back which has really set me back. I have gained the weight back and I am trying to get it off with a diet. I have used weight watchers in the past and it is a great program. I can get out and walk on some days and will try to pick that up a little. I would really like to know if there is anything else I can do without hurting my back further, so I will ask my doctor next week when I go in for a check up, I have already had the blood work done to check for any other medical issues. I just wanted you to know you have inspired me to get this weight back off. I am at 160 from the 132 from 2 years ago. Good luck to you and I will be following as well as taking as many tips as I can get. Thanks Darlene

  3. Hi Gordon… I watch you every am and know the challenges you are going through! I too was overweight and decided to take control of my health! I lost 60 lbs. recently. I also struggled with friends, family and co-workers trying to “feed me”. I was taking two blood pressure medicines and fixing to go on cholesterol meds. I no longer need any of these medications and feel like a new person. I want to encourage you to hang in there, you are doing great! I am still watching my calories and fat grams to maintain my current weight. Good luck during the upcoming holidays! I know you can do it…I wish you a lot of luck, and hope your family has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

  4. Gordon, i have 2 questions that i hope you wont mine answering >>>how much did you wiegh ? and what is your weight now ?

  5. Hi Gordon,

I also watch you every morning and have been keeping up with your weight loss. You are doing great. I was in the high 300s also (but a female and I weighed more than you at 5′-6″ tall) and since February of 2008, I had lost 102 pounds (gained 6 over the holidays and am getting it off now). I couldn’t walk from my car to my desk each day without gasping for breath and I knew I had to do something fast. I’m a lot older than you also (59) but want to live a little longer). Losing weight is the hardest thing I have ever tried to do in my life and it takes an entire lifestyle change. Keep up the good work and pray that I can continue to lose also (need another 70 pounds off).
    You are in my prayers.
    Vicki
